Join us on a journey to Ameca’s creation and meet the ‘world’s most advanced’ humanoid robot that was made here in Cornwall, by Engineered Arts! Ameca has travelled the world, was featured on This Morning, and is joining us for its first showcase in Cornwall.

This event is open to all, whether you have advanced or little tech experience, there is something for everyone. Four key areas for Ameca’s creation will be covered throughout the day: mechanical design, electronics, software/programming and A.I. Come along and find out about what’s inside the anatomy of a state-of-the-art humanoid like Ameca, get under its skin and ask creator Will Jackson questions about the technology making it tick. Or join us to learn more about career opportunities and training in the South West’s fastest growing tech sector.

You will be able to speak to Ameca, key employers and tech players in Cornwall (such as Truro & Penwith College, University of Exeter, Tech Cornwall, TecWomen, Headforwards and Cognition Learning). Engage in workshops around coding and VR; listen to talks and panels such as Engineered Arts on Ameca’s creation, a panel on careers/training opportunities, and a talk focusing on Inclusion in A.I.

This event is open to all and there will be child friendly activities available including LEGO Battle Bots and Tech Jam (all children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times).

Please note: The £5 event fee will provide you with a lunch token which includes x1 sandwich or pasty with either a can/muffin/crisps OR a children’s sausage roll.

*The Cornwall Tech Jam is a monthly event provided by Tech Cornwall and run by volunteers from the local tech industry. As part of the Festival of Tech this Tech Jam will provide an opportunity to try your hand at some coding or software development. It could be some Scratch Traffic Lights, Microbit Addressable LED or writing the code for the Mission to Mars Rovers on a BBC Microbit or Arduino. Absolutely no experience is necessary and the coding is suitable for children with supervision.
