About the Cornwall Festival of Tech

Celebrate Cornwall’s tech, digital and software expertise

Brought to you by your friendly local not-for-profit tech cluster, Software Cornwall and their friends at TECwomen CIC.

Software Cornwall has been supporting the tech, digital and software industries since its inception in 2014. Beginning as a Director peer group, founding members recognised that to grow their businesses, they would need to ensure that there were enough people with the right skills locally who wanted to work in tech. So they took it upon themselves to build relationships with local schools and colleges and provide work experience to young people to allow them to experience what it’s like to work in a software company.

Today, Software Cornwall has grown into a membership organisation welcoming 80+ companies and 1500+ individuals into the community with the prime purpose of helping to provide career pathways into the local digital industries at whatever stage of life and career.

Software Cornwall offers free Tech Jam events to help kids and their caregivers experience new technologies in a fun and informative environment. Software Cornwall offer work experience opportunities to teens to help them decide whether a tech career is for them before they choose their next options. There is also the offer of career switcher programmes to help adults with transferable skills experience the industry and increase their job prospects locally.

As well as career pathways, Software Cornwall helps businesses build connections locally, scale their companies, train their staff, recruit and raise their profile through high-profile conferences such as Agile on the Beach and Startup Cornwall, powered by Slush’d as well as meetups, quarterly Tech Connect conferences and multiple other events.
