About the Cornwall Festival of Tech
Celebrate Cornwall’s tech, digital and software expertise
Brought to you by your friendly local not-for-profit tech cluster, Tech Cornwall and their friends at TECwomen CIC.
Tech Cornwall has been supporting the tech, digital and software industries since its inception in 2014. Beginning as a Director peer group, founding members recognised that to grow their businesses, they would need to ensure that there were enough people with the right skills locally who wanted to work in tech. So they took it upon themselves to build relationships with local schools and colleges and provide work experience to young people to allow them to experience what it’s like to work in a software company.
Today, Tech Cornwall has grown into a membership organisation welcoming 100+ companies and 3000+ individuals into the community with the prime purpose of helping to provide career pathways into the local digital industries at whatever stage of life and career.
Tech Cornwall offers free Tech Jam events to help kids and their caregivers experience new technologies in a fun and informative environment plus work experience opportunities for teens to help them decide whether a tech career is for them before they choose their next options. There is also the offer of career pathways programmes to help adults with transferable skills experience the industry and increase their job prospects locally.
As well as career pathways, Tech Cornwall helps businesses build connections locally, scale their companies, train their staff, recruit and raise their profile through high-profile conferences such as Agile on the Beach and Corwnall Slush’D as well as meetups, quarterly Tech Connect conferences and multiple other events.
Ambitious to the core
The Tech Cornwall team are ambitious and not afraid to dream. It is our dream that we elevate Cornwall’s status as a prime hub for tech business, both within the county and nationally. Our goal is to spotlight Cornwall’s thriving tech industry, inspire individuals to explore tech-centric career pathways, and bolster our local economy in the long term. Our mission is to drive positive social change by empowering the Cornish tech community.
To support us in our mission, we proudly present, Cornwall’s Festival of Tech.
